Dr Rebecca Bowen
Dr Rebecca Bowen is a Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in Breast and Gynaecological cancers in Bath. She was trained in oncology at St Bartholomew's Hospital, the Barts Cancer Institute and the early phase trials unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. She runs an Oncology Menopause Service in Bath.
Rebecca was awarded the prestigious Cancer Research UK Gordon Hamilton Fairley Research Fellowship and gained a PhD in the Molecular Characterisation of Breast Cancer. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in her field and is principal investigator on many clinical trials. She set up the UKGOM meeting and is Deputy Chair of the Gynae Trials Group (GTG-UK, formerly NCRI Gynae) leading Gynae cancer trials across the UK.
Tom Tylee
Tom began his career as a Trial Coordinator at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre before moving to the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath, where he took on a more patient-facing role within the Oncology and Haematology Research Team.
Over the past 14 years at the RUH, Tom has worked across a wide range of studies, initially focusing on genetic and quality of life research, then expanding into radiotherapy and Head and Neck cancer trials. He also previously led the gynaecological cancer research portfolio and continues to support the team across multiple cancer specialties.
Tom currently leads the Oncology and Haematology Research Team in Bath and was recently appointed Clinical Research Delivery Lead for the RUH, a role he will formally take on at the end of July. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership, further strengthening his commitment to driving high-quality, patient-centred research.
