Help shape our health information and support services so that everyone has the knowledge and support to better understand and cope with a diagnosis of ovarian cancer.
The OvarView panel is a group of people living with or affected by ovarian cancer who contribute to the development of Target Ovarian Cancer’s information and support programme.

What can I bring to the panel?
Joining the panel is your opportunity to give your views on our ovarian cancer information and support services.
Information
We know how important good quality information about ovarian cancer is. We also know that ovarian cancer can be difficult to understand. You may not have known about ovarian cancer before you or a loved one were diagnosed. You may hear a lot of medical words and terms and the information you need may change depending on the type, stage and grade of ovarian cancer.
It's important that the information we provide is useful and appropriate for those it's aimed at. Your input can help us to review our information to make sure everyone understands it.
Support services
At Target Ovarian Cancer we are always improving the support that we offer to everyone affected by ovarian cancer. We know how important it is to develop support services with those who use it, so that they are relevant and helpful.
By joining our panel:
- Your views can help us to make sure our information and support services are the best that they can be.
- Your views can inform what you, and others affected by ovarian cancer, need from our information and support services.
- Your views can help us to make sure that our information and support services represent everyone affected by ovarian cancer.
- You will be helping to create clear, useful information that helps others.
- You will have the opportunity to share your experiences to help others affected by ovarian cancer.
- What will I be doing as a panel member?
As a panel member you will be giving important feedback to help us shape our ovarian cancer information, both online and offline. You’ll also be able to share your views to help us shape our support services for everyone affected by ovarian cancer.
You don’t need to have any medical knowledge, you don’t need to travel and you can provide feedback at a time that suits you, from the comfort of your own home. We will be in touch with you to share opportunities to take part and you can choose which opportunities are right for you.
Depending on the information or support service that we are developing, you may be:
- Invited to comment on a written piece of information about ovarian cancer (such as our guides and our web information).
- Invited to give your feedback or get involved in creating new multimedia (e.g. health information videos).
- Invited to have a chat with us one-to-one or as part of a group, over video call or telephone, so that we can share ideas with you and get your feedback on a piece of information or support service.
- Asked to fill in a survey to help us develop new information covering topics or new support services that you need.
- Invited to provide quotes and tips to help others affected by ovarian cancer.
- Invited to take part in photo or video shoots if you would like to.
- Who can join the panel?
Anyone affected by ovarian cancer can join the panel. This includes anyone with diagnosis of ovarian cancer as well as family members and friends of someone with a diagnosis. You may not be directly affected, but you may have an interest in ovarian cancer and the work that Target Ovarian Cancer does. You must be over 18 to join the panel.
We welcome new members from every background. It’s important that we get a range of views so that our information and support services can be used by everyone. We would particularly like to improve representation of Black African, Caribbean and Asian backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ communities and those with a disability.
You don’t need to have a high level of spoken or written English to take part. We will always do our best to make our information, services, and the panel, accessible to you if you have specific needs.
- How often will I contribute?
At Target Ovarian Cancer we are always reviewing information and our support services.
How often we ask for your feedback will depend on the information or support services we are reviewing or developing. We will ask for your feedback when it's needed. On average, we expect to contact you to ask for your involvement four to five times a year.
If we invite you to take part but you would rather not on that occasion, just let us know!
- What do I need to be a panel member?
To be a panel member, there are only a few things that you will need:
- Access to a device (laptop or tablet) and an internet connection.
- To be able to read written English. You don’t need to be a really confident reader. If you find reading hard, we want to hear from you too.
- To be able to provide feedback over email, the phone or video call.
How do I get started?
