Information standards

Target Ovarian Cancer is committed to producing up-to-date and accurate information for people affected by ovarian cancer.

Target Ovarian Cancer is a member of the Patient Information Forum (PIF), the UK membership organisation for people working in health information and support.

We are proud to have been awarded the PIF tick. This is the UK’s only assessed quality mark for print and online health and care information. It means you can be assured that health information published by Target Ovarian Cancer is evidence-based and produced to the best possible standard:

  • We produce health information that’s useful for anyone living with ovarian cancer, their families, friends and healthcare professionals. We involve intended audiences in every stage of our production process to ensure that information is written in plain English, the tone is appropriate and that it reflects their needs.
  • Our health information undergoes an expert peer review to ensure it’s based on reliable and up-to-date evidence. We aim to reflect a strong evidence base and consensus expert opinion in all our medical information. Where there’s no consensus in expert opinion, we present a balanced view of the evidence available.
  • All our information is reviewed regularly to ensure it’s still current and accurate. We aim to review information every year, with a view to revising it at least every three years. It may be revised sooner if there's an evidence change or development in treatment or national guidelines.
